Type 1 inositol 1,4,5-triphosphate receptor (IP3R1) is a tetrameric ligand-gated calcium channel, and X-ray crystallography, (cryo-)EM , and AFM in solution have revealed its static structures. Moreover, it has been reported that muirne IP3R1’s transition to open state induces its clustering. So I wish to raise the following two questions:

1. Can we observe IP3-induced gating of full-length human IP3R1 using AFM in solution?

2. If similar clustering of full-length human IP3R1 occurs, can we observe its dynamism using AFM in solution?
